My Goals For 2019

As 2018 draws to a close I've been having a think small about  goals I would like to achieve next year. Am not one for making resolutions as let's face it not many people actually stuck them out but small goals seem more achievable. Am not aiming for any major lifestyle changes but rather small steps that I think would make me feel happier and more for filled.

I've also added a note at the bottom talking about another goal I would love to make happen in the future but simply isn't feasible at this time.

Learn How To Use My New Camera

My husband kindly gifted me a shiny new bridge camera for Christmas. It was completely unexpected and am delighted with it. To get the most out of it I have booked myself onto a a day coarse to learn how to use all the different settings correctly, as to be honest I haven't got a clue! I current do all my photography on my phone so am really excited to learn some real photography skills. I recieved some money at Christmas so I think this would be the ideal way to spend it. Hopefully I can learn how to take beautiful photographs of the boys that we can treasure for years to come.

Be More Money Savy

Am not one to spend extravagantly but I know there is a few small cut backs I could make to enable me to save a little more  money each month. Am spending more than I would like on things like coffees and adding little extra items to my shopping trolley that where not on my list. January isn't the best time for us to be saving as we have quite a few family birthdays that fall then but am  hopeful that  over the next few months I can make a small saving towards our next family holiday.

Continue To Work on My Blog & Instagram

Over the last few months I've been really lucky to have had the opportunity to work with a number of brands and small buisness through this blog and instagram. I feel really privileged that they have trusted me to create content for them and enjoy how it has challenged me creativity.

Over the next year I would love to continue to work with more brands but I also want to be brave enough not to accept every opportunity am given. Some of the work with brands I have done has been collaborative where I've been gifted a product in exchange for a review/ instagram photo. On a couple of occasions the amount of work I've put into the post has exceeded the value of the product so in future am going to either decline or ask for a fair price.

To be honest I've been a lacking in inspiration for my blog recently. I am aware that the last few posts I've done have been sponsored or collaborative and I don't want this to all my blog is about. I really enjoyed doing the series of posts on eco friendlier parenting so am currently brainstorming for ideas on a new series of posts. Sometimes posting once a week isn't always possible but I would like to try do three posts a month.

Make More Time For Friends

Truth to be told I've not been the best friend this year. Trying to juggle work, Motherhood and family time can be rather time consuming, unfortunately it hasn't left me with much time to catch up with friends. I had though when Oliver started school it would give me a little more free time to try and claim a bit of my social life back in fact factoring in school pick ups and Tommy's naps it doent actually allow me much flexibility. It doesn't help that my friends and I often have different schedules to work around. But this year am going try much harder to make friends a bigger priority. When we say "we much catch up soon" I will follow it through!

My Goal For The Future

Lastly their is one other goal have that just isn't feasible for this year but I hope to achieve it with in the next couple of years. It is to have more time with my husband. He commutes  into the city for work which means he often doesn't get home in the evenings untill 7.45pm, so we only see each other for a couple of hours before bed. To make working  part time for me  financially viable it means we have to juggle the childcare between us then use a childcare provider two days a week. This results in us only have one day a week off together, usualy either a Saturday or Sunday. Part of that day is often take up with catching up on housework or taking boys to birthday parties/swim classes so the day can sometimes pass with out us having any quality time together.
Am hoping once Tommy is three and eligible for funded pre school hours that I could adjust my working hours so we can have an extra day off together each week. This would allow us a little on quality time together that am desperatly craving.

Are you making any goals for 2019?

Recaro Easylife Stroller Review

Since Tommy turned one in June I've been searching for a lightweight and easy fold stroller. I do love our Flip XT2 pushchair from Mamas and Papa's and still intend to use it for longer walks. However, now Tommy is bigger it can be quite heavy to push at times and although it's relatively compact when folded I do find it rather heavy to lift especially if your trying to juggle a wiggly baby at the same time.
I spent a good bit of time researching strollers, reading countless reviews and watch YouTube demo videos as I wanted something that would be practical for our needs and look good too. Eventuallylly I decided on the Recaro Easylife in the colour black, the usual RRP is £189.00 but I managed to get it on sale from for £139.00.
First Impressions Setting up the Recaro Easylife was very simple, all I had to do was flip open the chassis and attach the front wheels. Then it was ready to go! The black frame and wheels gives the stroller a more pr…

Tips For Creating Instagram Flatlays

If you follow me on Instagram you will know am quite partial to posting a flatlay, I like how they mix up my grid and allow me to be a little creative. I find them really quick and easy to shoot and lighting is rarely an issue (natural lighting only). In no way I am claiming to be an expert but I have learnt a few tricks along.
Backdrop The backdrop is a key element of my flatlays. I tend to use two different textures layered together, this could be a white bedsheet and faux  fur blanket or wooden flooring and a throw.  I like to change the textures seasonally, in winter I favour faux furs and in summer lighter fabrics. I find using the same backdrop several times gives continuity to my feed and inkeeping with the tone.

Theme & Colour Pallet  Before creating a flatlay I always have rough idea in my head if how I want it to look or what I would like it to portray. The image also has to fit in with my current instagram grid colour pallet. For example when creating the image below …

Micralite FastFold Pushchair Review

We where estastic to have recently been  given the opportunity to try out the new Micralite FastFold Pushchair with our one year old Tommy.  It could not of come at a better time as for the pervious couple of months we had been switching between using  our bigger travel system and light weight stroller depending on the occasion. Ideally I wanted to have one pushchair that was just as efficient for city trips as it was for a bit of country off roading without comprising on comfort and the FastFold promised to do just that.
First Impressions  Assembling the FastFold was super easy, all I had to do was click on the rear wheels and attach the seat linner and it was ready to go! I thought the product had an overall good quality feel about it. It was sturdy, with large pneumatic tires but still compact in size. I loved the colours and design of the special "Festival" edition. The design is different to most pushchairs as the FastFold is wider at the front than it is at the rear.…
