Quick & Easy Mama & Toddler Lunches

I think most of us would agree that's its difficult to find the time
to sit down an eat during the day when you have a toddler about the house. I've been guilty of skipping lunch all together in favour of getting the boys fed and the cleaning up done. However recently I've been making more of an effort to sit down and enjoy lunch with 1 year old Tommy. Oliver is at school now so I don't have to make his lunches during the week. Perviously I was making two separate lunches for the boys as they would rarely eat the same thing but Tommy and I both have similar tastes so we can eat mostly the same meals. Tommy mainly feeds himself now so I have more time so enjoy eating with both hands!

Below I've shared five of our favourite quick and easy lunches we share together. Tommy likes to feed himself now so they are all meals he can manage independently. I usually like give him some yogurt or fruit to follow.

Pizza Pockets

Spead  Warburton Toasty Pockets with pizza topper then fill with cheese and any thing else you fancy. We like cheese and tuna. Pop them in the toaster for a minute or two then they are ready to serve. I usually slice Tommy's into fingers and serve it with corn on the cob.

Falafel, Pitta & Salad

Pop the falafel in the oven to heat through for 10 minutes (or eat cold if you perfer) then serve with warmed pitta bread, salad leaves, cucumber and cherry tomatoes. I also like to have hummus with mine but Tommy is not a fan!

Eggy Bread

Eggy bread is a favourite of Tommy's. He likes to have his with either baked beans or banana. While I just like to have mine as it is. Again I tend to slice Tommy's into fingers so make it easier for him to pick up and eat.

Funny Face Rice Cakes

This one is super easy as no actual cooking is required and if your toddler is a little older that might enjoy helping you to make them too. I spread plain rice cakes with soft cheese spread then add fresh ingredients such as cherry tomatoes, cucumber and peppers to create funny faces. Tommy usually then picks a the toppings off and eats them first then eats his rice cake. I usually serve them with some veggie sticks and extra cheese for dipping.

Open Top Bagel

Bagels can make a nice chance from regular sandwiches. To make them more manageable for Tommy I slice them in half and spread them with our chosen topping then cut it into four. We like to have tuna or cheese mayo on ours. I serve Tommy's as part of a picnic plate with some veggie straws and fruit.

Recaro Easylife Stroller Review

Since Tommy turned one in June I've been searching for a lightweight and easy fold stroller. I do love our Flip XT2 pushchair from Mamas and Papa's and still intend to use it for longer walks. However, now Tommy is bigger it can be quite heavy to push at times and although it's relatively compact when folded I do find it rather heavy to lift especially if your trying to juggle a wiggly baby at the same time.
I spent a good bit of time researching strollers, reading countless reviews and watch YouTube demo videos as I wanted something that would be practical for our needs and look good too. Eventuallylly I decided on the Recaro Easylife in the colour black, the usual RRP is £189.00 but I managed to get it on sale from www.naturalbabyshower.co.uk for £139.00.
First Impressions Setting up the Recaro Easylife was very simple, all I had to do was flip open the chassis and attach the front wheels. Then it was ready to go! The black frame and wheels gives the stroller a more pr…

Tips For Creating Instagram Flatlays

If you follow me on Instagram you will know am quite partial to posting a flatlay, I like how they mix up my grid and allow me to be a little creative. I find them really quick and easy to shoot and lighting is rarely an issue (natural lighting only). In no way I am claiming to be an expert but I have learnt a few tricks along.
Backdrop The backdrop is a key element of my flatlays. I tend to use two different textures layered together, this could be a white bedsheet and faux  fur blanket or wooden flooring and a throw.  I like to change the textures seasonally, in winter I favour faux furs and in summer lighter fabrics. I find using the same backdrop several times gives continuity to my feed and inkeeping with the tone.

Theme & Colour Pallet  Before creating a flatlay I always have rough idea in my head if how I want it to look or what I would like it to portray. The image also has to fit in with my current instagram grid colour pallet. For example when creating the image below …

Micralite FastFold Pushchair Review

We where estastic to have recently been  given the opportunity to try out the new Micralite FastFold Pushchair with our one year old Tommy.  It could not of come at a better time as for the pervious couple of months we had been switching between using  our bigger travel system and light weight stroller depending on the occasion. Ideally I wanted to have one pushchair that was just as efficient for city trips as it was for a bit of country off roading without comprising on comfort and the FastFold promised to do just that.
First Impressions  Assembling the FastFold was super easy, all I had to do was click on the rear wheels and attach the seat linner and it was ready to go! I thought the product had an overall good quality feel about it. It was sturdy, with large pneumatic tires but still compact in size. I loved the colours and design of the special "Festival" edition. The design is different to most pushchairs as the FastFold is wider at the front than it is at the rear.…
